The battle with the boss has two phases, with each using its sub-phases. The dungeon  MaplestoryM Mesos itself is quite small, with only two rooms which make which stage of the fight you are currently in quite obvious. You go into the dungeon through a bridge as well. Be warned it will disappear 30 minutes following the initial player that spans it, so ensure your party members are ready before proceeding.Here's a look at the phases.

The first stage happens in the smaller area. Holes riddle the floor of this square room, and there are ledges you can jump down to the bottom and left side. On the ledges, you will find fairies which will cure any burning piles you could have acquired from the boss's attacks. The holes can also protect you from a fantastic majority of his attacks.

The very first sub-phase has Pyrros with a dashing/dodging attack alternating with a lunging bite. Stay away from his path or front, or use the ledges or holes to avoid him. His dash can inflict serious burns which will need to be cured by the fairies on the ledges. Keep the DPS up at every opportunity, and you'll get to the next sub-phase before long.

Lower his health enough, and he'll start using his tail to attack. The overgrown lizard will begin with running toward the upper corners (reverse of where the ledges have been ) and flick his tail. He will then knock down it, dealing a great amount of damage. His tail will not strike the same area twice, along with the attack with the index can't be prevented by hiding in a hole. Other than the holes, then you can dodge his tail flicks by hanging him on as he's more benefit going to flick, and tail strikes by jumping down the ledge. He is completely immobile at this stage, so any ability with slow projectiles may be used with confidence.
